I am scheduled to present four free webinars primarily for CPAs, but anyone in business that uses financial statements might also find them interesting and insightful. Also, I am presenting an IRA/401k webinar for the general public and not accountants or tax professionals. Here is my schedule with brief descriptions. All webinars are 1-hour, and the times are Eastern time zone. Each will have an extensive handout.

The following are being presented for CPA Academy. To register, go to https://withum.CPAacademy.org. There will be 1 A&A CPE credit for each webinar.

May 12 at 9:00 a.m. – Essential Auditing for Individual Growth

I will address the importance of operating a business that establishes controls to best serve clients’ needs and, most importantly, add value. Topics include communicating effectively, adopting an anti-assumption attitude, and recognizing the larger scope of an audit while maintaining attention to the details. I also discuss the importance of checklists and preplanning that will allow the auditor to have more focus and better manage their precious time. This informative session will benefit attendees with all levels of auditing experience or clients that want to get a better understanding of the audit process.

May 18 at 9:00 a.m. – Financial Statement Myths

I dive into the top myths concerning financial statements that accountants and clients fall victim to. I will identify some erroneous assumptions surrounding EBITDA, working capital, debt to equity ratios, and return on equity. I also will uncover the truth about gross profit percentage, leverage and debt, cash flow, interim inventory valuations, using dollars (or currency) to measure growth, and more. Attend to learn how to dispel these commonly held accountancy myths that may impact your practice or business.

May 24 at 10:00 a.m. – Peeling Away the Layers of a Financial Statement

Like an onion, financial statements have many layers beneath the surface. This presentation illustrates how to peel apart the layers and get below the surface to provide clients and business managers with essential financial information about their business that will offer them better control and a better way to use the financial information at their disposal.

June 1 at 10:00 a.m. – Applying Information in Form 10-K to Your Clients’ Businesses

This program will cull informative financial reporting data from the 10-Ks of some of the top companies in the S&P500 and show how it can be adapted to privately held companies. This webinar will cover what typical companies may face as well as the outliers. The metrics’ importance will illustrate why you should provide such information as supplementary data to your client’s audited, reviewed, or compiled financial reports. I will also show you how to learn more about companies you might invest in.

The following is being presented as part of the Take a Business Break series at the East Brunswick Public Library.
