KSM directors Ashley Christie and Justin Hayes have been recognized as up-and-coming leaders in the accounting profession and the Indianapolis community.

Christie, a director in KSM’s Real Estate Services Group, was named a recipient of the Indiana CPA Society’s (INCPAS) Emerging Leader award. The award recognizes young professionals in the field of accounting who have demonstrated leadership in their position and have contributed to the success of their employer. Christie was selected for her role in establishing KSM’s Tax Academy initiative, which provides advanced training to experienced staff. Additionally, she founded the firm’s Real Estate Group Study (REGS) program to enhance discussion among KSM peers about industry topics and trends.

Hayes, a director in KSM’s Not-for-Profit Services Group, was selected for an Emerging Leader award by Ball State University’s Department of Accounting. The Emerging Leader Award recognizes department graduates who have positions of responsibility, demonstrate career success, and actively engage in leadership roles.

Hayes was also recently named a finalist for United Way of Central Indiana’s ELEVATE Awards in the Young Professional Board Member of the Year category. In their inaugural year, the ELEVATE Awards honor individuals ages 21-40 who have positively impacted the central Indiana community and elevated others. Hayes was selected for his contributions as board treasurer and finance committee member for AYS, which provides safe, high-quality programs for central Indiana children outside of school hours.

Christie will be honored at INCPAS’ annual awards program at the Indiana Roof Ballroom on May 10. Hayes will be honored at Ball State’s annual Accounting Alumni Awards on April 29.
