Withum Wrap-Up: Giving Back in 2023

Sometimes, the best resource one can give to their community is time. Whether it be volunteering at a food bank, cleaning up a beach or park, helping with after-school programs or crafting holiday greeting packages for soldiers and veterans, Withum is proud to promote volunteer opportunities for team members.

Between Withum Week of Caring, the annual give-back marathon event leading up to Thanksgiving, National Intern Day, where Withum interns participate in volunteer events, other annual service initiatives and individual team member volunteer efforts, including holding board positions and more, team members from across the country and around the world have volunteered over 7,000 hours this year.

Between donations from Withum and Withum team members, over $1.5 million has been given to organizations all over the world. Every year, team members have the opportunity to donate their unused PTO days, which has resulted in over $33,000 being donated to a variety of organizations chosen by Withum Team Member Resource Groups.

Withum’s incoming class of team members, the Empower Class, spearheads an annual fundraising campaign that spans their entire first year at the Firm. The chosen charity for the 2022 class was Boys & Girls Club of America, which, between the Firm and individual contributions, received $58,000 from the Empower Class’s efforts.

In addition to the Boys & Girls Club, over 338 organizations have been the beneficiaries of Withum’s giving efforts over the year. While Withum Week of Caring was responsible for reaching 83 of those charities, National Intern Day and other give-back events throughout the year brought much-needed assistance to organizations from coast to coast and abroad.

Withum remains dedicated to the AICPA’s mission to support the talent pipeline for the accounting industry and make accounting a profession that is more accessible to underrepresented talent. Between individual team member donations and Firm contributions, $120,500 has been gifted to establish or continue scholarship funds across universities to support accounting students.

Taking an interest in improving communities is part of living the Withum Way. Withum team members are proud of monetary donations and volunteer initiatives that make their neighborhoods a better place for all who live and work there. As 2023 closes out and 2024 approaches, Withum looks forward to another year of giving.
