AICPA introduces AI-guided Career Launchpad

The American Institute of CPAs and the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants rolled out Career Launchpad, an artificial intelligence-guided program for students interested in accounting and finance.

Available globally, Career Launchpad gives AICPA and CIMA student members access to real-world career stories, expert advice, and information from accounting professionals on a range of subjects including salaries, résumé preparation, personal branding, career choices and interview skills.

The program, which requires free student membership with AICPA and CIMA, is led by an AI-powered avatar named Andi, who guides students through six modules covering the types of careers available in accounting and finance, and how to prepare for those fields. In the final module, students can participate in simulated interviews and receive real-time feedback driven by AI.

"Through Career Launchpad, we're proud to feature CPAs and Chartered Global Management Accountants who are passionate for their roles in the business and accounting world," said Mike Decker, vice president of CPA examination and pipeline at AICPA and CIMA, in a statement. "They really showcase the innovative areas of their jobs, enabled by their credentials and their experience. The AI-driven mock interview in module 6 is truly a game changer, allowing future accounting and finance professionals to practice their interview skills and fine-tune them by receiving instant intelligent feedback."

Career Launchpad's six modules include: career exploration (modules 1-2); skill development (modules 3-5); and advanced interviewing with AI (module 6). The first five modules are free for student members, who can earn a digital badge upon completion, and module 6 is available for $19.95 (and completion of that can earn students a total of three digital badges to display on LinkedIn).
