With the release of Intuit's QuickBooks® Online Accountant (QBOA) to accounting professionals in more than 170 countries around the globe, Insightful Accountant recognizes the QuickBooks and ProAdvisor world is changing, and an ever-increasing number of ProAdvisors are now outside the US.
In previous years, Insightful Accountant changed the Top 100 ProAdvisor Awards to recognize 20 international members within the International ProAdvisor award category; however, this still limits the fastest-growing population of ProAdvisors within the Top 100 ProAdvisor awards.
With this in mind, Insightful Accountant is announcing a new International ProAdvisor Awards Program for 2024, which will be conducted alongside our domestic Top 100 ProAdvisor program. We are limiting the 2024 domestic awards to the US and its territories.
ProAdvisors from all areas of the globe, except the US and its territories, will be eligible to participate in the new International ProAdvisor Awards.
New Process for ProAdvisor Awards
For 2024, the Top 100 ProAdvisors, Top Up-n-coming ProAdvisors and new International ProAdvisors award processes will begin with a single new nomination form that may be completed by either the ProAdvisor or a colleague recommending the ProAdvisor.
This new nomination form will usher nominees into the appropriate awards track.
When a colleague nominates a ProAdvisor, the nominee will be automatically notified of their nomination. When ProAdvisors nominate themselves, they will be channeled directly into the formal ProAdvisor application, where preliminary questions automatically determine their eligibility based upon the minimum requirements (see the qualifications below).
Qualifications
As in past years, all nominees for the ProAdvisor awards must actively practice as a QuickBooks ProAdvisor/Professional with one or more actual clients using QuickBooks (Online or Desktop).
Individuals providing staff services without actual client interaction in rendering ProAdvisor/Professional services using QuickBooks (Online or Desktop) are not eligible for these awards.
International participants, regardless of country of practice, must hold Intuit QuickBooks ProAdvisor status or the equivalent* for their country or a country within their Intuit Region, an Intuit Global certification or ProAdvisor Certification from any other country where Intuit issues actual QuickBooks ProAdvisor Certification. Uploading one such certification into the application form will be a required part of the new process.
Persons with dual certification in their own country and from Intuit US may elect to participate in the Top 100 ProAdvisor (domestic US) awards; however, they will be evaluated exclusively upon their US credentials in the application measures discussed below.
Insightful Accountant's formal application measures a ProAdvisor's qualifications related to professional stature, practice performance, training, certifications, and app engagement.
For International candidates, many areas are divided into the global geographical areas of the Western and Eastern Hemisphere. This precludes candidates from needing to answer "No" to questions not remotely connected with their ProAdvisor practices.
Candidates will be able to close and reopen their application for the entire application process period, even after submitting it using their unique access (URL) link.
Upon closing of the application period, the remaining process will mirror the domestic Top 100 ProAdvisor awards, including voting by peer International ProAdvisors, final rankings and awards announcements.
The New List and Awards
For 2024, the International ProAdvisor recognition list will be determined based on the total number of eligible nominees, the number of qualified applicants and final scoring factors. The list will consist of no less than 20 ProAdvisors and no more than 50 ProAdvisors.
The Top International ProAdvisor list will be issued simultaneously with the Top 100 US ProAdvisor and Top 25 Up-n-coming ProAdvisor lists. In addition, the "2024 International ProAdvisor of the Year" will be announced at the same time and location as the 2024 ProAdvisor of the Year and Top Up-n-coming ProAdvisor for 2024.
Insightful Accountant believes this new International ProAdvisor Awards process more closely aligns with the growth of QuickBooks, the ProAdvisor Program, Intuit's Global ecosystem, and our own increasing international readership and ProAdvisor Awards participation.
