KSM to Join Forces With Cincinnati Firm Cassady Schiller

Katz, Sapper & Miller is expanding into Ohio as it is set to add Cassady Schiller, one of the largest CPA firms in Cincinnati, on May 31.

Top 60 accounting firm KSM (Katz, Sapper & Miller) is expanding into Ohio as it is set to add Cincinnati-based CPA firm Cassady Schiller on May 31.

Financial terms of the deal weren’t disclosed.

Cassady Schiller, which is ranked among Greater Cincinnati’s top 10 largest accounting firms, brings more than 70 employees and eight partners to KSM, including Managing Partner Mike Clark and Chief Operating Officer Heather Bucher, who will serve as co-managing partners of KSM’s new Cincinnati office.

Founded in 1990, Cassady Schiller provides tax and accounting services to a diverse mix of clients, including high-net-worth individuals and families as well as businesses in the manufacturing and distribution, hospitality, and services industries. Cassady Schiller also brings significant real estate expertise to KSM’s large real estate practice.

Tim Cook

“We are thrilled to welcome Cassady Schiller to the KSM family. In Cassady Schiller, we have found a team of talented professionals whose deep commitments to their people, their clients, and their community align very closely with ours. We couldn’t ask for a better cultural fit,” KSM CEO and President Tim Cook said in a statement. “We’re eager to see all that Cassady Schiller’s people will contribute to KSM, including enriching our culture, enhancing the services we offer, and expanding our reach into new markets.”

Cassady Schiller will be fully integrated into KSM as KSM’s Cincinnati regional office and will assume the KSM brand over the coming months.

“Joining KSM is a perfect fit for Cassady Schiller,” Clark said. “We anticipate great benefits for our clients, including a broader range of services and resources, as well as diverse opportunities for our people to continue to grow their careers. We’re excited for our next chapter.”

Bucher added, “Since our founding in 1990, Cassady Schiller has exceeded the expectations of our clients, actively engaged with our community, and fostered a close-knit workplace in which people come first. We look forward to many years of the same—and much more—with KSM.”

Cassady Schiller’s wealth management practice is not part of the transaction as KSM does not offer wealth management services; it will continue as a separate firm under the Cassady Schiller name.

Headquartered in Indianapolis, KSM also has Indiana offices in Evansville and Fort Wayne, as well as offices in Oklahoma City and New York City.
