Getting Your Affairs in Order – Tool Kit

Death is inevitable but most people do not want to consider or confront it. But it also affects the survivors. People need to plan and be prepared.

This Tuesday, I am presenting a free Zoom program on how to get your affairs in order. Everyone attending will be provided with a 90-page tool kit that includes 24 checklists and short briefings on pertinent issues to be aware of.

The program will discuss how the 24 checklists can be used to declutter your life, arrange your affairs to avoid confusion if you no longer can care for yourself or how to set up things for someone you might need to care for, the uses and purposes of essential trusts, the responsibilities of trustees and executors should you end up in that position, a dire warning to your IRA beneficiaries, how to protect yourself if you become incapacitated, your other wills and your ethical will, what records you need to keep, estate liquidity, how a parent should choose a guardian for their minor children and arrange for an allowance for the guardian, how assets can be left to minors, and how to provide overall comfort for yourself and your heirs.

This is a program I’ve presented many times and also wrote a book about. I like giving it and feel it can be very helpful to those attending.

The program will be Tuesday, March 22, from 2:00 to 3:00 and is being presented for the Bradley Beach Public Library. It is on Zoom and is Free but you must register in advance. Here is a link: http://engagedpatrons.org/EventsExtended.cfm?SiteID=8938&EventID=455131&PK=

For those that do not know me, I am an emeritus partner at Withum, an adjunct professor at Baruch College and one of Accounting Today’s Top 100 Most Influential People. I am also accredited as a personal financial specialist by the AICPA and the author of 29 books.

A final comment is that perhaps you don’t want to do anything about it for yourself, but suppose it was your spouse or partner that died. Would you know how to handle things? Get it done!

I hope to “see” you there.
