Withum Interns Create Nationwide Impact on National Intern Day

As businesses across the United States celebrated National Intern Day, Withum interns took to their communities to engage with local organizations and volunteer at nonprofits nationwide.

Withum's 2023 Interns: over 120 interns from 18 offices volunteered their time over the week of July 24 to make an impact in their community.

Over 120 interns from 18 offices volunteered 225 hours over the week of July 24. Four of the offices chose to volunteer with their local Boys and Girls Club chapters, spending time with the children at the club, organizing activities and speaking about the transition from high school to college and starting a career.

A first of its kind for Withum, our team activated the inaugural Intern Day of Giving with one mission-- to provide opportunities for our interns to actively participate in one of the Firm’s core values: commitment to our communities. Our interns provide a rich pipeline of future talent for the firm, and therefore we were intentional in creating this initiative as it is a true testament to Withum’s culture and embodies the spirit of #OneWithum.

Seven offices collaborated with Hearts of Hope, a healing arts organization that also provides resources for those suffering emotional turmoil, focusing on resilience and moving forward. Withum interns gathered in-office to create inspiring artwork, sharing a message of hope and strength to those experiencing loss or trauma.

Other intern groups volunteered at local food pantries to prepare meals, joined in community clean-up days and bagged groceries for seniors. The activities of National Intern Day are reminiscent of Withum’s annual Week of Caring, where team members from all offices volunteer with local organizations during the week leading up to the U.S. Thanksgiving holiday.

We are proud of our summer interns for embracing the Withum Way and giving back to their communities. Along with a unique and growth-oriented professional internship program, we hope to impart the importance of getting involved with communities in need. Caring and compassion are qualities that should be fostered within the workplace. I hope that this special team of interns values this principle throughout their careers and takes every opportunity to practice it.
