OneStream, a corporate performance management solutions provider, announced new features in its software. They include an environmental, social and governance tool that allows users to align ESG reporting with financial reporting; machine-learning features that allow for the creation of thousands of AI-enabled forecast models for demand planning, inventory optimization, sales planning and other extended planning and analysis use cases; and integration with Microsoft Power BI. OneStream's Power BI Integration is in private preview with select customers and its machine-learning solution is currently in limited general availability.

Armanino testing out new CX app

Top 25 Firm Armanino announced the test launch of its new digital client experience app, Armanino Access, currently available to select clients for a "test drive." The software, so far, comes with a dashboard that provides real-time status on any client project, direct messaging to the client team, milestone tracking, event registration, news updates and a virtual chatbot for a personalized experience. It also sports a feature called Business Campfires, which is effectively  an interactive networking group. Via Campfires, Armanino clients can pose questions or ideas and gather feedback from other industry-related clients or Armanino experts. The firm intends to provide this channel as a fresh way to interconnect the industries it serves. The test launch is intended to collect data and feedback directly from clients to help improve and innovate Armanino Access based on needs and preferences.

MindBridge touts new API

MindBridge, which makes risk discovery and detection software, announced a new API as part of its latest global release, which enables the automation of MindBridge input and output for audit and financial professionals. The new release also provides the ability to configure risk groups and create custom risk scores to facilitate stronger integration with a firm's audit methodology, and provide internal audit teams with granular details through a new dashboard that provides visibility into their risk segments. Finally, the company said the MindBridge interface is now available in Canadian French, Parisian French, German and Castilian Spanish, and provides supporting materials for non-English speaking users.

Ocrolus launches automated fraud detection for documents

Ocrolus, a document automation platform targeted at lenders, has released an automated fraud detection solution. The product, Ocrolus Detect, automates fraud workflows and provides signals and visualizations of possible fraud activity. The software indicates where file  tampering has occurred in a document, what fields were modified, and how they were changed to provide the necessary level of context for more informed lending decisions. It also visualizes file tampering on documents received and often can recover the original document for fraud analysts to spot the modified fields.

New hires and appointments

Legal and accounting software provider AbacusNext added two members to the executive team: Andy Burner is now the senior vice president of people strategy, while Stephanie Johnson is now the senior vice president of business transformation. … Payment platform Bill.com hired Loren Padelford as chief commercial officer responsible for sales and strategic partnerships, reporting to CEO and founder, René Lacerte. … FreshBooks, which makes small-business software, appointed Wayne Jackson as its new chief financial officer. In addition to having been a CEO in both public and private companies, he is a former PwC client service partner. … Equify Financial has brought Dan Krajewski onto its executive team as the company's executive vice president as part of an overall expansion of its equipment leasing and finance business.

Partnerships and integrations

Client engagement platform Ignition partnered with Intuit to provide a series of templates for tax advisory and advisory proposals for the recently-released Intuit Tax Advisory solution. The templates, designed by Josh Lance, managing director at Lance CPA Group and head of accounting for Ignition, are widely available for Ignition customers in the United States and can be found in the templates library. … Blockchain and cryptocurrency infrastructure firm Binance announced a partnership with MinervaA, which makes software to detect financial crimes. Binance's Canadian affiliate will use Minerva's artificial intelligence tools, sanctions and other risk screening capabilities to enhance their know-your-customer and anti-money laundering capabilities for security, anti-fraud and AML compliance programs in Canada. … Hyperproof Inc, a provider of SaaS compliance operations, has partnered with Top 10 Firm Grant Thornton to provide its products and services to clients in order to  standardize key control activities, automate their evidence collection processes and gain deeper insights into their compliance programs. Further, the two companies will jointly develop a data exchange capability between Hyperproof and Grant Thornton's SOC.x tool, a SOC compliance platform. … Corcentric, which provides payments and procurement software, will be working with tax compliance platform Sovos to help companies adjust to a recent French law that requires all companies in the country, as well as suppliers doing business with French companies, to transmit and receive e-invoices via a central platform starting July 1, 2024. Corcentric's software already supports the most widely used data exchange standard for e-invoicing, Factur-X; combined with Sovos' tax compliance solutions, the two companies intend to make it easier to comply with the standard on a single platform. … Helm, which makes business management software, is now fully integrated with Sage Business Cloud Accounting. The integration is now available for Sage Business Cloud Accounting users in the U.S., Canada, U.K. and Ireland. Sage joins the already available integrations with Xero and QuickBooks Online. … Automation solutions provider Botkeeper announced that expense management software provider Expensify has joined its marketplace partner system. The two companies will cooperate to increase the accounting profession's capacity through automation of back-office tasks.

German compliance solutions company heyData has closed on a €3.3 million seed financing round. led by Ten VC, with additional participation from existing investors Patrice Deckert, Stefan Tietze, as well as new investors Martin Ostermayer, Dirk Freise and Picea Capital, among others. The money will be used for product enhancement and market expansion.
