Each year I assemble a file with my most helpful and useful checklists, and I make it available for free to colleagues. This year I am offering it in my blog.

The primary purpose of the checklists is for tax return reviewers to do a better job. However, the assemblage of checklists has grown to 142 covering all ranges of topics. Mainly they are for accountants but one entire section of 25 worksheets is for clients wanting to better get their affairs in order. I’ve previously offered those in this blog but I included it in this file. I also have golf tips and packing for a trip checklist – actually two; one for packing and the second for bringing a tuxedo. When things are organized it makes what you do easier and better.

I also included plenty of tips for clients on common errors to avoid on their tax returns, ways to declutter their financial and tax affairs and even things they could do to reduce their accountants’ fees. I also have a list of my top 10 business books, some tips on managing your investments including a template for an investment policy statement and instructions on reclaiming unclaimed funds. Some have been posted here, some are new and some are oldies that I resurrected. One thing in common is that I’ve used every one of them.

Last year almost 7000 files have been distributed and I expect more this year. They are yours for free. If you get one idea or adopt one new thing, it will certainly make the time you spend skimming the file worthwhile.

To download the checklists, click here. If you have trouble with that, then email me at [email protected] and just put “checklists” as the subject.

Enjoy!
