IMA teams with Controllers Council

The Institute of Management Accountants formed a partnership Thursday with the Controllers Council to develop research and thought leadership as well as promote the IMA's Certified Management Accountant credential to management accounting and corporate finance professionals.

Under the partnership, the organizations will provide Controllers Council subscribers with access to the CMA program and the IMA's Accounting and Finance Conference.

"CFOs and corporate controllers are operating in an environment of extreme volatility and uncertainty," said IMA president and CEO Jeff Thomson in a statement. "As one of the world's leading management accounting associations, we are pleased to offer thought leadership and educational programs with Controllers Council to help professionals manage risk and realize sustainable growth opportunities."

Both groups plan to collaborate on event panels, research projects, podcasts and other activities for accounting and finance professionals.

"IMA and the Controllers Council share a common mission of training corporate accounting and finance professionals," said Controllers Council executive director Neil Brown in a statement. "I'm pleased at the opportunity to serve our stakeholders through this new collaboration, which includes endorsement of IMA's CMA certification."

The Controllers Council is a Chicago-based association of controllers, CFOs and corporate accounting and finance professionals.
