The New Jersey Society of Certified Public Accountants (NJCPA) is accepting nominations for its 2023 Ovation Awards. The awards celebrate individuals who demonstrate exceptional work in or support of New Jersey’s accounting profession in seven categories: Diversity, Equity & Inclusion; Impact; Innovation; Emerging Leaders; Exceptional Educators; Lifetime Leader and Women to Watch.

The Ovation Awards were created to recognize outstanding accomplishments, selfless volunteerism, impactful commitment and a lifetime of dedication to the accounting profession. Those selected have introduced notable ways to move the profession forward, mentored other professionals, encouraged and maintained diverse and equitable workplaces and contributed to the growth of the profession.

Nominees can be self-nominated or nominated by a colleague. Only NJCPA members are eligible for the Emerging Leader, Women to Watch and Lifetime Leader categories, but nonmembers are eligible for the other awards.

“CPAs by nature serve their clients and communities in such rewarding ways. These awards are our way of recognizing those great accomplishments and acknowledging excellence,” said Aiysha (AJ) Johnson, AM, CEO and executive director at the NJCPA.

The deadline to submit nominations is Aug. 21. Winners will be announced during an NJCPA IssuesWatch Live broadcast on Oct. 4, and cited in the winter issue of New Jersey CPA, the NJCPA’s quarterly magazine. To submit a nomination, go to njcpa.org/ovation.
