Coronavirus Refunds: UNC To Offer Reimbursements, Credits, Contribution Option For Season Tickets

As the pandemic continues to disrupt everyday life the world over, consumers in many cases might want refunds on things they have already paid for but may not be able to use. Universities, in one case, are offering credits, reimbursements or donation options for season tickets.

The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill announced in a letter to football season ticket holders that Carolina Athletics will not have tickets in the form of season passes.

Ticket holders will receive the option to roll over their 2020 season ticket order to next year, get a reimbursement or contribute their season ticket purchases to Carolina Athletics as a gift.

The university is creating a procedure to provide single-game tickets, according to the letter, which also noted that the capacity for Kenan Stadium will be decreased.

“We are planning for multiple scenarios and will continue to work with University and state officials as well as health experts to determine the appropriate level of capacity, which may vary throughout the season,” Director of Athletics Bubba Cunningham and Rams Club Executive Director John Montgomery said in the letter.
