Wolters Kluwer launches enhanced collaboration tools

Wolters Kluwer announced new, enhanced collaboration features as part of the latest release of CCH Axcess Client Collaboration. The new capacities, in general, relate to tracking and exchanging documentation between clients and accountants.

Specifically, the new software provides a single, secure portal where clients can upload and share all documentation needed for Forms 1040 and business tax returns. Being able to upload and store documents as they become available, all year long, can help reduce last-minute scrambles to find receipts and documentation at tax times.

The latest version also allows users to create tax return requests for S corps, C corps, partnerships, fiduciaries, employee plans and nonprofits. It also enables the use of existing — or custom-configured versions of — engagement letters, questionnaires and document request list templates.

Wolters Kluwer developed these new features in response to survey data that named late and unprepared clients as the No. 1 challenge for professional tax preparers. The goal was to find a way for firms and clients to manage all tax workflows for both individuals and businesses from a single secure collaboration platform.

"We know that most of our customers' tax clients are busy small-business owners or professionals who just want to get through tax time as quickly and painlessly as possible. They don't have time to learn how to use one system for their 1040 return and a different system for their business return. Now, with CCH Axcess Client Collaboration, they won't have to," said Nate Brown, vice president of firm management for Wolters Kluwer North America, in a statement.
