A Florida attorney was sentenced today to eight years in prison for conspiring to defraud the United States and tax evasion arising out of his promotion of an illegal tax shelter scheme involving false charitable deductions. Over the years, Meyer ignored a chorus of people who advised him that his plan was illegal, including the IRS.
