Pretty much overwhelmingly they said it was because you have to have an accounting degree and a CPA, which isn’t true. You don’t have to be a CPA. Firms are looking at non-traditional hires and non-CPAs. But they also overwhelming said it’s boring, it’s stuffy, you do taxes or audit. It’s not glamorous.

I had coached baseball for 3 years at this point, umpired baseball games for 6 years, played basketball my whole life, and coached junior high football for a year. Following graduation, I took the summer off of work and umpired baseball games, golfed 18 holes, and studied for the CPA exams. Crazy how that works.
